cozy sister swap

Before Thanksgiving I participated in a Cozy Sister Swap. It was my first swap EVER and I was a little nervous, but it was so much fun!! Our camera died right before the swap so I’ve been waiting & waiting to get a new one so I could show you all my goodies. Well, guess what? I finally replaced the camera but I’ve used half the stuff. If you want to see a pic of all my goodies, you’ll have to visit my wonderful swap partner Wendi. Thank you so much Wendi!!!

I got a box FULL of wonderful things like yummy cinnamon pancake & syrup mixes, cinnamon apple candles, magazines, The Twelve Blessings of Christmas book, an adorable snowman for my collection, Fall dish towel, beautiful handmade cards, and a pumpkin spice sachet that makes my entryway smell heavenly.

Thank you Carrie and Monica for such a fun swap!!

wfmw – hot chocolate party in a bag

Need an inexpensive but fun gift for a family? Give them a Hot Chocolate Party in a bag. I take no credit for this great idea – my creative mom gave it to my kids a few years ago & now we give it out every year. We usually give it to families who are going through a rough time & need a little pick-me-up.

You can add as little or as much as you want, but here’s what we do:

Start with a large colorful gift bag and add

  • box of hot chocolate mix
  • bag of Christmas marshmallows
  • bag of Christmas butter cookies
  • box of candy canes
  • festive napkins & cups
  • a stuffed snowman or penguin from the dollar store to stick in the top of the bag

It’s a super easy & inexpensive way to share some Christmas cheer!

Run on over to Rocks In My Dryer for some really great tips. (I’m going to have to try her delicious cornbread recipe.)
