my homeschool planner

August 16, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

I keep seeing pics of these nifty spiral bound planners that people are creating, and while I love the professional look, I just can’t lock myself into one. I want to be able to move things around or add & remove pages, so I will be sticking to a pretty binder.

I don’t want to keep track of two planners, so my homeschool plans and household notebook are all in one handy place.

These pages are going in my notebook:

  • ISD calendar (because my niece schools with us, we follow the school district calendar to coordinate with her siblings)
  • Schedule
  • Weekly Organizer
  • Dated Lesson Planner Sheets
  • Quarter Planner 1 for each subject
  • Goals for the Year
  • Grading Chart I don’t record grades, but my kids love that score at the top of their paper
  • 99 Ways to say ‘Very Good’
  • 31 Days of Praying for Your Husband
  • 31 Biblical Virtues to Pray for Your Children
  • 31 Days of Praying for Your Pastor
  • 31 Days of Praying for Your Pastor’s Wife
  • Grocery List
  • Monthly Meal Planner
  • Monthly Lunch Menu
  • Monthly Bills I stick this in a page protector along with any bills for the month
  • Gift List can’t find what I want, so I will probably create it
  • Birthday Calendar
  • Black Friday Price Log

I will probably add to the list as the week goes on. Is there anything you put in your planner that I don’t have listed here?

back-to-school boot camp

August 16, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

We are starting school in a week and summer break is officially over. With a heat index near 115, I will be glad when summer is over! I am ready to get back into a routine and to update this poor neglected blog.

I am calling this week Back to School Boot Camp. I will be putting together plans for the school year and the kids will be getting the house in order (of course I will be directing helping).

Here are some plans for the week:

  • get kids back on school schedule (up at 8, ready for bed by 9:30)
  • divide books up into a loose schedule for the year
  • make copies
  • write a weekly schedule
  • set up a file system
  • create a planner
  • make new chore charts
  • come up with a list of lunch ideas

I will share my plans as I finish them. I have found so many great things while researching all of  this! Because time is tight this week, I will probably do either a bunch of little posts or some long lists.

Hopefully you will find some helpful ideas!!
