{31 Days} Fun & Funky Nails

October 14, 2011 By: amyswanderingcomment

I spent the evening transforming little girl nails into jack o‘ lanterns, candy corn & spooky eyes for our trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow.

Have fun with these fun & funky ideas!

{Some of these sites are inappropriate (IMO), so click through the pics at your own risk. I save nail ideas on Pinterest for a handy visual reference – all of these ideas (& many more!) were found there.}

{31 Days} Thanksgiving Planners

October 13, 2011 By: amyswanderingcomment

I know it is not even Halloween yet, so why a Thanksgiving planner?

If you already  have a plan in place, it is easy to take advantage of sales and stock up a little at a time (it‘s less painful that way 🙂 ).

You would be surprised at how many generic Fall items you can find in the after-Halloween clearance sales!

{31 Days} Homeschool for Free

October 13, 2011 By: amyswandering1 Comment

I am going to call this  {Day 12 & a half}. Yesterday just got away from me!

How about an Internet (oldie)(but) Goodie from my archives since I am playing catch-up!

I have a collection of  links to FREE curriculum.

Now these aren’t crafts, or random worksheets, or practice drills.

Nope, they are complete lesson plans or workbooks.

I would guesstimate that at least half of our subjects this year are freebies.

{My Homeschool for Free binder link is always available in the first column to the right.}

{31 Days} Grocery Shopping Helper

October 11, 2011 By: amyswandering2 Comments

I came across a very helpful site today called Food on the Table.

It combines a menu plan with your local store sales and creates a customized grocery list. For free!!

Here is how it works:

  • Create an account.
  • Choose a local grocery store from the list.
  • Select your food preferences (low-carb, kid friendly, Italian, etc).
  • You will then be given a list of meats – ones that are on sale that week & also regular price- choose the ones you like. (Or do like I did & also choose stuff you have on hand so it will give you recipes for it.)
  • The website will give you a bunch of recipes based on all of your choices. (You can narrow the recipes by Cheap, Quick, Healthy, or Simple) Choose the ones you want included in your meal plan.
  • Once you have picked your recipes, you will be given a grocery shopping list that you can print out or add to your phone as an app.

Making a menu plan based on weekly sales is a great way to save money as food prices climb higher each week. Combine Food on the Table with the Coupon Mom database and save even more!

Here are a few more easy-to-use menu/grocery planning sites:
