September Writing Calendar

August 31, 2015 By: amyswanderingcomment

Just popping in to let you know that the September writing prompt calendar is ready! I’ve also the included the September creative planner on the freebie page. I will get official posts for these up soon, but wanted to go ahead and let you know they are available. (Can you tell we started back to school this week?)

The link for the subscriber freebie page, and September’s password, should be arriving in your inbox in the next few minutes (10:00 ET).

Happy Homeschooling!

FREE Scarecrow eBooks

Scarecrows are so much fun in the Fall. They are colorful and cheerful (as long as you stay away from the spooky ones). There are some adorable Scarecrow eBooks that can be borrowed for free through the Open Library system.

If you are not familiar with the Open Library, it is a collaboration with several libraries around the country to provide an online lending library. You can borrow five books at a time for two weeks. [Read more…]

Daily Freebie Update

August 25, 2015 By: amyswanderingcomment

FREE Daily Homeschool Resources

Remember my Daily Freebies series back in May? The response to that was very positive. I’ve been thinking about how I want to approach sharing future freebie links because I don’t have time to put together daily freebie posts here on the blog.

I’ve decided that my Facebook page is the best way to share the fantastic free homeschool resources I find. I can’t wait for you to see the goodies I have lined up for you!

Now don’t get upset if you aren’t on Facebook, or don’t hang out there often – I have a solution for you! Scroll down this page and look for my Facebook Follow box in the sidebar on the right. It looks like this:

facebook widget

You can click on the daily freebie links in that box without ever visiting Facebook. I recommend bookmarking my blog so you can visit daily, or subscribe to my blog through email so you can easily click on over here and see what’s new on Facebook.

FYI – Facebook changed its algorithms for blog pages a few months ago. It now only shows the posts to a very small percentage of you at a time, so  those of you who are following me already are not seeing most of my posts in your feed. You might want to also follow the steps above to see the freebie posts.

And don’t forget about our Homeschooling through the Seasons Facebook group. That is where I link to free homeschool resources that are specific to the current season or holiday. It is a sharing group, so you are welcome to join and post your favorites also!

Please let me know if you have any questions about all of this!

Make Over Your Mornings Sale Only $10!

I am really enjoying Crystal Paine’s Make Over Your Mornings Course. I am NOT a morning person. I’ve finally gotten to the point where I consistently wake up early, but my mornings aren’t very productive. I am tired of wasting that part of my life!

The Make Over Your Mornings Course only takes 15 minutes a day – 5 for the video, 5 for the workbook, and 5 for the daily project. This course is not a checklist of tasks to complete to have an organized day. Instead, it is a tool to help you reach whatever goals you have for your morning. That will look different for each one of us, so it is truly one-size-fits-all.

This course is on sale TODAY ONLY for just $10 (reg $17). A little birdie told me that it won’t be on sale again until 2016. You can try it risk-free for 30 days. If at the end of 30 days, you’re unsatisfied for any reason—if Make Over Your Mornings doesn’t do just that, “Make Over Your Mornings”—simply email them for a full, prompt, and cheerful refund. No questions asked!

Theme Night Menu Plan

Theme Night Menu Plan

We came up with a fun theme night menu plan a few years ago and it worked really well for us. Life got crazy busy, we threw in a major move, and I had all but forgotten about it.

We are about to start a new school year and I need a menu plan in place so we can keep our trips to the drive-thru to a minimum. I remembered our old menu plan and decided to revamp it to fit our current schedule.

Typical weekly menu plans, where you decide on a recipe for each night, don’t work for me. Spaghetti might have sounded good when I wrote the menu, but not so much when the planned night arrived. (I have to be in the mood for a particular food to enjoy it. Not saying that’s a good thing, just keeping it real!) [Read more…]
