Using the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle as Curriculum

Have you purchased your Ultimate Homemaking Bundle? Today is the last day!

{See the Complete List of ebooks HERE}

I am having such a good time looking through mine and working out different ways to use it throughout the year. Here are a few of the ideas I’ve come up with so far:

Homemaking Curriculum – These are the titles my dd16 & dd15 will enjoy. I want to send them out of our home and into their own fully prepared. They love to make healthy snacks and desserts, so I think I know which two ebooks will be read first. ;)

MY Curriculum - I am continually learning as well, looking for ways to improve and grow. I can’t wait to dive into these:

That’s around $200 for the ebooks I just listed, which are only about one third of the ebooks in the set. This list doesn’t include the ones I will use with my younger kids, like More Than a Holiday: A 25-Day Christmas Devotional for the Whole Family and More Than Candy: A 25-Day Christmas Countdown that Counts. And it only cost me $29.97!

Don’t forget the gift possibilities! Any ebooks or bonus offers that I don’t want can be given away. I love the idea of loading them onto a pretty USB flash drive necklace for gift-giving.

Act now if you are interested in turning the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle into instant curriculum. The sale ends tonight at 11:59 p.m. EST!!

Add Some Seasonal Fun to Dinnertime + Giveaway

My family loves to put together fun dinners for each holiday! We plan out the menu, decorate with a bit of whimsy, and sometimes invite friends over to join in the celebration.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money or time on your festive meal. Dollar Tree and Target’s Dollar Spot are great places to pick up table scatter or confetti, paper plates & napkins, and some festive decor like garlands and streamers.

I will use St.Patrick’s Day to give you an idea of what one of our seasonal dinners looks like. Green is the name of the game! It is a minor holiday to some, but Hubby and I lived in Dublin for a year before we got married and we make a big deal out of it.

Here are some ideas to create a festive atmosphere:

We have the same meal every year: Beef in Guinness, Cabbage and Bacon, Boiled Potatoes, and Irish Brown Bread. {I will have recipes for all of this in a couple of weeks, so Pin this post and check back!} After dinner, we have tea with imported biscuits (cookies) and sweets (candy) that we buy in the British foods section at the grocery store. We eat these while having a rousing sing-along with our High Kings DVD.

To start off your St.Patrick’s Day dinner tradition, I would love to give one of you this beautiful Irish Shamrock Table Runner.

My Word of the Year

Last year was my first time to name the year.

It was a perfect fit for 2011.

As the new year rolled around, themes started running through my head.

I once again asked God to show me and He was quick to reply.

Oh how appropriate … and oh how uncomfortable!!

The ideas started tumbling in my head.

I want to STRETCH …

… my FAITH

  • give Christ His rightful position as ruler of my time
  • encourage others with the Word of God
  • banish the fears I still carry around after losing a child

… my BLOG

  • share more of our daily life
  • cheer on homeschooling moms
  • build up community

  • continue our shift towards whole foods
  • 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week
  • force myself into an earlier bedtime

  • scatter scripture throughout our home
  • decorate for my family, not for a design mag
  • shop my house and re-purpose what we have

  • start doodling
  • learn how to quill
  • put my new watercolor pencils to use

  • offer guidance to a group of future homeschoolers
  • teach a Couponing 101 class
  • promote my husband’s business

I hope that posting this long list will hold me accountable (gulp)!!

Did you name your year?

Please leave a link to your post, or tell us in the comments.

I would love to know!!
