wfmw – cookies for breakfast

Wouldn’t your kids love to eat cookies for breakfast? And wouldn’t you love for them to eat something healthier than a poptart before heading off to school? (Or in our case, to the living room.) I found the most delicious recipe at Heavenly Homemakers. They are healthy and super easy to make. Cookies for breakfast works for me!

I feed my kids cookies for breakfast off and on, they are healthier (even just standard cookies) than poptarts and less sweet than pancakes with syrup or french toast!!!

Mmmm, my kids loved these at your house, so I made a big batch for back to school this week. FYI, they freeze well. I cooked a double batch and divided them up into freezer bags. I can pull out a bag the night before and leave them out for breakfast the next morning.

I’m totally checking out those cookies–seems like a lovely complement to the crockpot steel cut oats!

I’ve been using some Quaker steel cut oats (they were being discontinued at our Kroger on sale super cheap). Not the flakes–they really were the steel cut type. Anyway, my point is that you don’t have to use the Trader Joe’s brand to get good results.

Let’s raise our orange juice glasses for a toast: Here’s to warm, healthy, creative breakfasts on these cold winter mornings!
