*jingle* christmas pajamas $7.99

November 3, 2010 By: amyswandering2 Comments

My kids get to open new pajamas every year when we decorate the Christmas tree on Black Friday.

I got a steal of a deal this year thanks to Hip2Save!

Crazy 8 has adorable pajamas for girls , boys, and babies for only $7.99! Check out both sections because several of the styles are unisex, and there are adult sizes too.

Shipping is a flat rate of $5. There is also a 20% off coupon in the November issue of Family Fun or Parents magazine.

I dug out my recent copy of Family Fun, raced to place my order, and ended up with 5 sets of cutie-patootie pajamas for $40.01 shipped!

i know an old lady who swallowed a pie

November 3, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

I took one of our favorite Thanksgiving books and turned it into a math lesson.

The kids decided how they wanted to measure each item in the story, and then they added up all the items as they were mentioned in the book.

The Old Lady’s Thanksgiving Dinner:

pie = 8 slices = 64 slices

cider = 1 gallon = 7 gallons

roll = 2 1/2 inches = 15 inches

squash = 6 lbs = 30 lbs (weighed the big squash on our front porch)

salad = 2 bags = 8 bags

turkey = 15 lbs = 45 lbs

pot = 10 quarts = 20 qts

cake = 291 servings  (used this site)

bread = 22 slices

30-Day Giving Challenge

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.           Ephesians 4:29

Give the gift of encouraging words today!

Here are some ideas:

  • Don’t complain – only let positive words escape your lips All.Day.Long.
  • Let your spouse know that you appreciate him/her
  • Give your children your full attention and PRAISE them

  • Encourage others with the Word
  • Smile & brighten the day of that grumpy cashier or the busy bank teller
