One of my favorite nature activities to do with my kids is to go outside and just LISTEN. It is amazing what we miss in our everyday hustle & bustle.
Frogs singing on the porch
Palm trees squeaking in the wind
Turtles plopping into the water
Lizards scurrying through leaves
We are using the book Sounds All Around to explore different sounds and to learn how our vocal cords and ears work.
Sound Scavenger Hunt
After reading all the fun sounds in the book, I decided that we were going on a sound hunt! I created a scavenger hunt that can be used just about anywhere.
See how many you can find at one time, or slowly check them off over multiple outings. You can even try one indoors!
Grab your FREE sound hunt printable below and get ready to be amazed at what you hear when you slow down and listen!

I love the idea of going on a sound hunt. I imagine we would have to be Really Quiet for a Long Time to hear all these sounds! 🙂 Thanks for a great list of resources!
