cinderella unit

I’ve been sorting through my files of school papers & thought I would share some of the projects we did in our early school years (K-2).

We compared several different Cinderella stories from around the world. I printed out these pages in landscape and the girls decorated glittery construction paper for the covers. A big thanks to Teaching Heart for many of these ideas.

holistic homeschool

May 24, 2007 By: amyswandering2 Comments

Ann of Holy Experience has some very inspiring thoughts on making every moment of the day count for eternity. Holy Experience was the first blog I ever read, and she always refreshes my spirit.

Her family has seven “rungs” that they commit to climb everyday: Listening, Love, Labor, Loveliness, Literature, Language & Logic

“ How do we know everyday what is a worthwhile investment of our time and what will burn up, straw at the end of time? How do we cultivate not simply well-trained minds, but nurture holisitic, well-lived lives? How do we work everyday towards raising up children, who are not merely academic automatons, but exuberant, soul-healthy, worshipers of God, committed to meaningful, eternal Kingdom work? How do we set our ladders against the right wall, and make the opportunity of today count for eternity?”

I printed out her thoughts & will be praying about a list of our own. I LOVE the idea of striving as a family to present our day as an offering.

Take a few minutes and go read this. It just might change your life.

homeschool freebies

Note to my non-homeschooling friends: check these sites out too. They are great for school reports or summer projects!

If you haven’t taken a look at homeschoolestore.com, getcherself over there! Their site is very easy to navigate. Sign up for their email list and you will be notified of the weekly freebie. This week’s free ebook is a lapbook titled Christian Missionaries to Know. In my opinion, In the Hands of A Child is the best for lapbooks – best for me means reallllly easy to use.

Another great site is Live and Learn Press. They offer several freebies on the site, plus you can join their Yahoogroup for even more free files.

What, you haven’t had enough? Ok, head on over to the Notebooking Nook for some beautiful printable pages. She also has a great Yahoogroup to join.
