wfmw – low carb pasta

April 6, 2011 By: amyswandering2 Comments

My husband went Low Carb several years ago and I had to make some big adjustments to our menu. We enjoyed all of the healthy changes except one … PASTA.

All of the low carb pastas we tried were terrible! They looked and tasted like cardboard and the texture was all wrong.

I ended up just cooking it for him while the rest of us ate regular pasta.

One day I came across an ad in a magazine for Dreamfields Pasta. They were making some crazy claim that we wouldn’t be able to tell that their pasta was low carb.

I was skeptical, but bought a box the next time I went to the store.

THEY WERE RIGHT!

It tastes the same and we have been eating it weekly ever since.

You can see how it all works HERE

I buy mine at Kroger, Albertsons and Super Target. You can find a list of stores HERE or order online.

It does cost a little more (around $2 a box), but I use coupons from the paper and from the Dreamfields newsletter.

I am giving away a set of FIVE $1 COUPONS!!

Leave a comment to enter the giveaway. If I get more than 20 comments, I will give away a second set of FIVE $1 COUPONS!

I will choose the winner(s) on Tuesday, April 12th.

{ Since this sounds like a commercial… :-)I am not affiliated with Dreamfields and was not asked to write this post. Just sharing a product that REALLY works for me! I received the coupons as a member of the Dreamfields Taste & Tell Team. }

While you are here, enter my Yoplait Yogurt Fitness Prize Pack! (ends Friday)

See tons of great tips at We Are That Family.

Homeschool Mother’s Journal

March 26, 2011 By: amyswandering1 Comment

In my life this week…

We had spring break part two. Last week was a fun-filled time of shuffling kids here, there & yonder. This week we concentrated on spring cleaning.

In our homeschool this week…

Along with the spring cleaning, I just let the kids get caught up on any old work and focus on math. We discovered Beast Hunter this week and all agreed that watching it counts as science : -)

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

My SIL invited the whole family over for dinner on Friday night. We had so much fun talking, laughing & playing games. I discovered that I am now too old to stay up until 2 a.m. and still function the next day!

My favorite thing this week was…

The beautiful weather, and rejoicing with my friends Spring & Chad over the healthy birth of their long-awaited baby boy!

What’s working/not working for us…

We are nearing the end of our Math Mammoth workbooks and have been very pleased with them.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…

Has anyone used Diana Waring Presents for history? How did you like it? I am thinking about using Ancient Civilizations and the Bible next year.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

We are not unschoolers, but I came across this a few days ago and it has really made me think:

“People will say “How will they learn algebra in the real world?” Is there algebra in the real world? If not, why should it be learned? If so, why should it be separated artificially from its actual uses? “Why?” should always be the question that comes before “What?” and “How?”. ” Sandra Dodd
