paperbackswap is your friend

May 3, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

PaperBackSwap.com - Book Club to Swap, Trade & Exchange Books for Free.

Have you signed up with PaperBackSwap yet? It can be such a valuable source for homeschoolers! You get rid of books you no longer want in exchange for ones you do.

Just in case you are only picturing chapter books & novels, I want to give you a look at some the titles I’ve received over the past few years:

  • Handbook of Nature Study
  • Family Math
  • Saxon Math K, 3, 5/4, 6/5, 7/6
  • Exploring Creation with Astronomy
  • Writers Inc
  • The Mystery of History vol. 1
  • First Language Lessons for the Well Trained Mind
  • Educating the Wholehearted Child
  • History for Little Pilgrims
  • Simply Grammar
  • A Child’s History of the World
  • History Pockets
  • McGuffey’s Readers
  • Hero Tales
  • DK Handbooks
  • Christian Liberty Nature Readers
  • Uncle Josh’s Outline Map Book
  • Draw Write Now

Did I get my point across?  LOL, I hope so! It is so easy to get started. Sign up, post ten books, and get two starter credits. I will also get a free credit (after you post ten books) if you sign up through my link. 🙂

Be sure to fill out a wish list if the books you want are not available. It might take a long time to get some of the popular books, so put them on a wish list even if you don’t need them for a couple of years.

What treasures have you received from PaperBackSwap?

April 30, 2010 By: amyswandering2 Comments

For those of you in the Dallas area, head on out to Canton this weekend and visit The Attic Door Photography. Some good friends of ours are responsible for the beautiful personalized signs you will see at this booth.

Wouldn’t a teen’s name or college initials be a great graduation present? Or how about these gorgeous inspirational photos for Mother’s Day!

You will find The Attic Door Photography in Trade Center II, space #35, every First Monday Canton Weekend.

roy the singing zebra

April 29, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

Little Prince has had the best time reading about Roy the Singing Zebra! He reads a part of the story out loud to me at the beginning of the week, and then does a worksheet each day. There are also interactive reading games to play.

And best of all? It’s free!

Ok, I take that back… the best of all is that my too-cool-for-baby-readers son asks to do this everyday!!
