2008 was great

January 2, 2009 By: amyswandering3 Comments

Wow, I guess I took an unintentional bloggy break! December was super busy around here, but very peaceful. The kids in our church put on their 3rd annual Christmas Story nativity play. They always do such a good job! This year Dancerella was Mary, Little Prince was a shepherd, Sassyfrass was an angel and Sweetpea filled in for Baby Jesus. (A big Thank You to Donna & Kelli for the beautiful pics.) [My adorable nephew is Joseph, and the other two in the 2nd shepherd pic are Javamama’s cuties.]

My sister and her gang came up for the week after Christmas, and my uncle, aunt & cousin popped in for the weekend. Our house was full of love and laughter!

Our year ended on a bittersweet note as my good friend Javamama and her family packed up and moved away. God called them to serve Him and they gladly, though tearfully, obeyed. We had an emotional last Sunday of blessings and goodbyes. Thank you God for Facebook (I’m not kidding!).

Expresso, Javamama, Superman, T-Rex and Butterfly:

WE LOVE YOU AND WE MISS YOU!!

I am looking forward to this new year as I make new plans and try new things. I want to be the wife and mother that God has designed me to be, not the poor imitation that I’ve tried to create.

MAY YOU AND YOURS HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!

simple woman’s daybook

December 15, 2008 By: amyswandering2 Comments

http://thesimplewoman.blogspot.com/2008/10/simple-womens-daybook.html

FOR TODAY …

Outside my window… freezing rain is falling

I am thinking... about how much I enjoy our sweet little one

From the learning rooms… Christmas Math, copywork, and crafts

I am thankful for… a wonderful church family

From the kitchen… a big pot of refried beans

I am creating… gifts of Christmas Simmer and Amish Friendship Bread

I am going… to take each of my children Christmas shopping.

I am reading…Ecclesiastes, Teaching With God’s Heart for the World

I am hoping… that if we get ice, it’s enough to keep Hubby home tomorrow  :o)

I am hearing… my daughter squeal at the arrival of the American Girl doll she bought with her birthday money

Around the house… I’m finally finishing the Christmas decorating!

One of my favorite things… a warm fire on a chilly night

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… deep cleaning to prepare for next week, mail presents, drive around & look at Christmas lights!

Here is picture thought I am sharing…
