I know some of you live in an area where ants are tiny little insects that go about their business, but down here in the Lone Star State they are vicious, man-eating monsters! You learn to recognize the shriek that means your child has stepped in yet another fire ant bed. I’ve come across two fairly effective forms of relief: solid deodorant or a cut onion. Immediately rub the ant bites with either one & it significantly reduces the burning & swelling of the bite.
Head on over to Rocks In My Dryer for some really great tips.
Edited to add: I use a small deodorant sampler for ant bites; you probably don’t want to use your regular one on your kids’ feet – although desperate times call for desperate measures ;o)

Never heard of these remedies before but they certainly are items most people have on hand. I don’t think I’d use the stick deoderant on my pits after using it on feet, though. 🙂
Blessings on y’all!

I’ll use one of those next time…maybe both. Is there any relief for the day after?
