December 2, 2009 By: amyswanderingcomment

Today’s WFMW theme is Best Gift Tips. I posted these links last year, but they are sooo good that I want to share them again. There are two categories – Coloring Books and Paper Toys. I will be updating the list with more links as I have time, so bookmark this post & check back!

New links are marked with  *

Have I got a treat for you!! I know many of us are having to get creative this year when it comes to Christmas presents, so how about letting your computer help you out. I’m making big fancy-pants coloring books for our girls. Our son will be on cloud nine with the paper airplane patterns. You could print out several of the models, add a glue stick or two and top it with a bow – you’re done! Below, I’ve linked to some very unique coloring pages and lots of paper toys to make. legend of the candy cane

December 2, 2009 By: amyswandering1 Comment

The Legend of the Candy Cane read and discuss  (another version here)

Candy Cane Notebook Page older kids write the legend in their own words

Candy Cane Notebook Page younger kids trace/write the following: their name, candy cane, red, white, Jesus

Watch the candy makers at Disneyland make their famous candy canes

Craft:  Snowman Candy Cane Ornaments – We used these for our inspiration. The kids got creative and we also ended up with a caroler and a penguin candy cane ornament.

the symbols of christmas

December 2, 2009 By: amyswanderingcomment

We like to do Funschool during the month of December, so we are spending the next few weeks studying the history behind the symbols of Christmas. We are having a blast!

I will post a lesson plan for each day, and you can find all of the links on my Symbols of Christmas Page.

Here are the resources I used if you want to come up with your own:
