*Jingle* All the Way {to the Bank}

November 6, 2012 By: amyswanderingcomment

It is time once again for my popular Jingle series. This is our 4th year!!

I will be sharing some great gift-giving deals with you, but act fast! They are gone in a flash!!

I am putting a new twist on it this year and showing you how to
Spend Less so you can Give More

I really love to give gifts at Christmas, but extravagance is not what the season is about, is it? Hmmm. Now that I think about it, extravagance is exactly what the season is about … God’s over-the-top, best-ever gift to mankind that came wrapped as a newborn baby.

Okay, so let’s try that again. Christmas is about God’s gift to us, not our gifts to each other. Giving gifts is fun, but giving of ourselves is more satisfying.

Our limited budget does not have room for expensive presents AND giving opportunities. I have learned to creatively cut down on the Christmas present spending so that we have extra funds with which to serve others.

Curious? Here are a few of the things I will be sharing:

  • deeply discounted toy & gift deals
  • cheap (or FREE) stocking stuffers
  • inexpensive gifts to make
  • affordable ways to help others

Keep an eye out for the *Jingle*!!

Moms, Are You Weary? Giveaway

November 5, 2012 By: amyswanderingcomment

bone-deep tired … hopeless … overwhelmed … angry … guilty … empty … lonely … battle-scarred … bitter … disappointed … broken … resentful … WEARY

Can you relate to any of those words?

Of course you can, you are human.

But there is Hope for the Weary Mom! I loved this devotional for tired mommas because I realized that I am not the only one who has THOSE days!! You know, the days when: baby is cranky, the older kids are arguing, you are out of that one ingredient to finish dinner, & there is no Calgon to take you away!

{Sometimes it is not just a day. Life has a way of flipping upside-down and looking nothing like you imagined. We experienced this many years ago when we lost our Elijah to Leukemia. But we have HOPE in the One who heals broken hearts and replaces dark days with Joy!}

Stacey Thacker and Brooke McGloughlin have a passion for encouraging burned-out Mommas. They have expanded their wonderful eBook and added study questions for each chapter. What a blessing it would be to go through this with friends and encourage each other in your Mommy ministry!

Being a Weary Mom is not the life that God has planned for you. He has redeemed you and restored you. Let His Grace flow freely and fill you up!

Would you like to win a pdf of Hope for the Weary Mom?
Just fill out the form below & submit!
Giveaway ends Sunday, November 11th

{You can also purchase Hope for the Weary Mom in Print or for Kindle}

Giveaway closed!!

I received a free ebook for my honest review. No other compensation was given.

Free Election Activities & Printables

November 5, 2012 By: amyswanderingcomment

{I am sharing FREE Election activities & printables all day today over on my Facebook page. For those of you who don’t do Facebook, I will add them here throughout the day as I have time.}

Only God knows the result of tomorrow’s election, and it does not change what is required of us as His followers. I love this article written by my pastor (& brother-in-law!) on cultivating a gospel-shaped perspective of government.

We are having fun reading through this book today! We are learning how our government was created and and what the jobs are of the different branches.
I was excited to find this unit study for the book.
