I am joining in on 5 on the Fifth, a brand-new linky hosted by Ben and Me. We will each be sharing five must-read posts on the fifth of each month.
It was a difficult decision, but I’ve narrowed it down some posts that I hope will encourage you and give you something to mull over this week.
A Pinterest Perfect House – Lots of food for thought here on what makes a house a home. “I don’t want a house that is Pinterest perfect, I want a home that is Christ perfected.”
On Daughters and Dating: How to Intimidate Suitors – I double heart this one. We’ve worked very hard to raise this kind of daughter. “Instead of intimidating all your daughter’s potential suitors, raise a daughter who intimidates them just fine on her own. Because, you know what’s intimidating? Strength and dignity. Deep faith. Self-assuredness. Wisdom. Kindness. Humility. Industriousness.”
9 Ways Generous People See the World Differently – This list really made me slow down and think about how I view and use my resources. “In order to unconform our thinking in a consumer-driven world and begin taking greater advantage of the abundant benefits of generosity, we need to shift our worldview.”
Homemaking as Worship – Encouragement to offer up the mundane. “The work He places before me is what I put my hand to do, and I am admonished to do it with all my might unto Him and for His glory.”
Grace in the Moment – Eight simple ways to offer grace to our children when we are frustrated. “Raise your hand if you want to be a godly mama to your precious little ones. Me too! Raise your hand again if you ever struggle with getting frustrated with your kids when they mess up, even when you KNOW in your head that is not the right response.”
If you have a 5 on the Fifth list that you would like to share, run on over and add your post to the linky.
