September Writing Calendar

August 31, 2015 By: amyswanderingcomment

Just popping in to let you know that the September writing prompt calendar is ready! I’ve also the included the September creative planner on the freebie page. I will get official posts for these up soon, but wanted to go ahead and let you know they are available. (Can you tell we started back to school this week?)

The link for the subscriber freebie page, and September’s password, should be arriving in your inbox in the next few minutes (10:00 ET).

Happy Homeschooling!

FREE Scarecrow eBooks

Scarecrows are so much fun in the Fall. They are colorful and cheerful (as long as you stay away from the spooky ones). There are some adorable Scarecrow eBooks that can be borrowed for free through the Open Library system.

If you are not familiar with the Open Library, it is a collaboration with several libraries around the country to provide an online lending library. You can borrow five books at a time for two weeks. [Read more…]

Daily Freebie Update

August 25, 2015 By: amyswanderingcomment

FREE Daily Homeschool Resources

Remember my Daily Freebies series back in May? The response to that was very positive. I’ve been thinking about how I want to approach sharing future freebie links because I don’t have time to put together daily freebie posts here on the blog.

I’ve decided that my Facebook page is the best way to share the fantastic free homeschool resources I find. I can’t wait for you to see the goodies I have lined up for you!

Now don’t get upset if you aren’t on Facebook, or don’t hang out there often – I have a solution for you! Scroll down this page and look for my Facebook Follow box in the sidebar on the right. It looks like this:

facebook widget

You can click on the daily freebie links in that box without ever visiting Facebook. I recommend bookmarking my blog so you can visit daily, or subscribe to my blog through email so you can easily click on over here and see what’s new on Facebook.

FYI – Facebook changed its algorithms for blog pages a few months ago. It now only shows the posts to a very small percentage of you at a time, so  those of you who are following me already are not seeing most of my posts in your feed. You might want to also follow the steps above to see the freebie posts.

And don’t forget about our Homeschooling through the Seasons Facebook group. That is where I link to free homeschool resources that are specific to the current season or holiday. It is a sharing group, so you are welcome to join and post your favorites also!

Please let me know if you have any questions about all of this!

FREE Apple eBooks

August 20, 2015 By: amyswandering2 Comments

I always do an apple theme for the first week of school. It is perfect for back to school, and hints at the coming Autumn season.  There are some lovely children’s books in this list of Apple eBooks that can be borrowed for free through the Open Library system.

If you are not familiar with the Open Library, it is a collaboration with several libraries around the country to provide an online lending library. You can borrow five books at a time for two weeks. [Read more…]

Organized Homeschooler Back to School Giveaway

34 bloggers are participating in this year’s iHomeschool Network Back-to-Homeschool Gift Basket Giveaway. We hope it will be a blessing to you!

I put together an Organized Homeschooler basket filled with fun & pretty things to brighten your year. It includes:

a simple plan planner

  • A Simple Plan Homeschool Planner – This is my favorite paper planner! I used it last year and loved how easy it was to plan for five children. It allowed me to see lesson plans for all of my kids on one page. (We are using a game-changing online planner this year.)
