Y’all … two years ago I was homeschooling 5 kids, and now I’m down to 3. It is such a weird feeling after all these years of a full house! My students are in 9th (ds), 7th (dd), and 3rd (dd).
My two oldest now work for my husband, and we couldn’t be more proud of their character and work ethic. And for those of you who have to drag your kids out of bed every morning (like I did with these two), they get themselves up and out the door with no help from me. So don’t worry about it! My 14 yr. old son hates writing. And I mean h-a-a-a-a-t-e-s writing. He is not a creative thinker, and his brain tends to shut down when given a writing assignment because he dreads it so much.

When I was working on curriculum plans this summer, I spent half a day searching for a better way to organize my online resources. I gather lots of fun links throughout the year, which I organize in LiveBinder, but I wanted some way to easily access my plans without having to be tethered to my computer.
I tried to use Evernote for this purpose but ran into two problems: I have too many projects going on there and get tired of wading through them, and it is too easy to accidentally erase things. I finally gave up my search for a better organizer. [Read more…]
