one of these things is not like the other

October 12, 2007 By: amyswandering3 Comments

I was browsing a site with Christian avatars when I came across an odd pic. It was right smack in the middle of several pages of Bible verses. I started laughing, called the girls in, and started singing the ‘One of These Things’ song from Sesame Street. They of course guessed immediately. Can you pick it out? LOL

wfmw – inexpensive home scent

October 10, 2007 By: amyswandering7 Comments

Now that Fall is here, I love to fill my home with seasonal scents – pumpkin spice, apple pie & cider are some of my favorites. I go through a lot of candles, but I also like to use a simmering pot on the stove to scent my home.

I fill a pot with water and throw in a little bit of whatever I have on hand: vanilla, cinnamon, apple cores, orange slices. (I keep a baggie in my freezer for apple cores – just toss them in the bag instead of the trash. You could do the same thing with orange peels.)

A bonus is the humidity added in your home – great for dry winter air. **Be sure to keep the temp low & check the water level occasionally.

Run on over to Rocks In My Dryer for some great tips!

living with the King

Here’s a thought-provoking article about inviting God into normal everyday life. Note that she isn’t saying ‘no’ to quiet time, just offering some additional training time for moms of little ones.
