check out this online Bible

I haven’t signed up yet, but I think this has the potential to be very useful! It’s an online Bible that you can highlight, tag AND journal. I’m an ESV girl (& love it too much to give it up, even for an online journal), but thankfully that was one of the versions used. I do my reading online everyday on Bible Gateway, but with this I could highlight things I want to remember and take notes as I read…because I forget my great thoughts about 5 minutes after I finish reading. And I’m guessing that with the tag feature you can create your own topical reference. How cool is that? I’ll give it a try & post the results as my WFMW next week. (In case you haven’t heard, this week’s WFMW is backwards day – Instead of giving a tip, you’ll ask for one, on a very specific subject.)

**Ok, I poked around a little more & here’s what I found: The tags work like blog tags, categorizing your verses AND connecting you to verses that other people have tagged. There is a community tab on the journal – you can share your thoughts on a passage & read others’ thoughts on it too; you can also share related images & links.

Bible Study/Devotions~

  • Daily Reading
  • My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers

Must Do~

  • Take Sassyfrass out to eat for her 3rd birthday!!
  • Create a Get Ready Checklist for my Household Notebook, to be used on Saturday nights so that Sunday mornings are less hectic.
  • Stay on top of Mt. Laundry- fold immediately out of the dryer!
  • Get some exercise!!
  • Buy a pumpkin for the front porch.

Zone~

  • Deep clean Master Bath
  • Sweep Porch

Train Them Up~

  • We are going to try a new cleaning system this week, all working together to get things done. I read about it over at Grace for Gayle. We use this system when we need to clean house quickly, right down to Toby Mac in the CD player-I don’t know why it never crossed my mind to do it all the time.

Menu Planning~

  • Make Birthday M&M Cookie Monsters for Sassyfrass to share w/her Bible class on Wed. ~Jill, I’ll save you one for your “splurge”day :o) *Recipe below-I will be using 1/2 bag mini choc. chips & 1 bag mini M&M’s.

Cookie Monsters

Mix in 1st bowl:
2 c. quick oats
1 ½ c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
¼ t. salt
Mix in 2nd bowl:
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. butter
1 t. vanilla
additional:
1 bag semisweet chocolate chips, ½ bag semisweet chocolate chunks

Preheat oven to 350. Add dry ingredients to wet a little at a time. When completely combined, stir in chocolate chips and chunks. Drop by heaping Tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. These are large so leave room to spread. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 3 dozen large cookies or 5 dozen small.

things that make you go hmmm…

September 30, 2007 By: amyswandering1 Comment

I’m home alone this morning because of a lovely head cold. I’m lazily browsing my bloglines & thought I would pass along the interesting things I’ve found.

~Excerpt from an article found on Heart of Wisdom:
(Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was a Romanian pastor who was imprisoned and tortured for 14 years by the communists.) On the evening of Easter Sunday in 1988 Pastor Wurmbrand was speaking to our newly planted church when it was meeting in our home. He finished what he wanted to say to us and opened the floor for questions. My wife Beverly was first to speak and asked him what we could do as a new church to grow, be healthy, and advance the kingdom. His response took us off guard – he said, “I do not have the answer to that question. Who has the next question?” He then took a question from a young man, a political activist, who wanted to know what we could do in America to prevent the same kind of persecution the church endured in Romania. In response, Pastor Wurmbrand said, “I cannot answer this question either. And now I want to tell you why. I cannot answer your questions because they are the wrong questions. To ask, ‘What must I do…?’ is like asking ‘What is the melody of a prune?’ A prune has no melody. As Christians we cannot ask ‘What must I do…?’ We must ask ‘What must I be…?’”

~Also from Heart of Wisdom: A Pride Test by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. My friend Kelli is always telling me how powerful this woman’s words are – Kelli, you were right! Rare is the person who will make it through this article without wincing. This is a must read!!
