wfmw – make an online cookbook

June 30, 2010 By: amyswandering1 Comment

Have you heard of LiveBinders? It is a free online notebook, and I am having lots of fun with it!

I created a cookbook binder to gather up all our favorite online recipes. I use Delicious to tag and organize all the yummy recipes I find while browsing bloggy world, but I wanted an easy way to access the ones that we have tried & liked. I just did a very simple cookbook, but you can create as many tabs as you want.

The wonderful thing about LiveBinder is that you can view each webpage in your binder. It is as simple as entering the link you want to display. I have a button in my browser toolbar that easily lets me tag a website . (You can find instructions for that here.)

You can also browse other people’s binders. I have found some great resources for our next school year this way.

I will be sharing some other ways I use LiveBinder soon, so stay tuned.

What ideas do you have for an online binder?

Run on over to We Are That Family for tons of great tips!

Tips I Want To Remember:

Playing Card Holder

Bacon-Wrapped Corn

Salt Water Pool

Headboard Shelf

wfmw – starbucks coffee in the garden

June 23, 2010 By: amyswanderingcomment

We moved from an acre to a regular city lot last year and no longer have room for a big garden. We decide to try a container vegetable garden this year. Our plants are healthy & beautiful and we have Starbucks to thank!

We picked up a big load of free compost from the city, but knew that some nutrients were going to have to be added to it. Hubby read that coffee grounds would do the trick.

I remembered reading that Starbucks gives away their used coffee grounds. Imagine our surprise when they handed over a ten pound bag! Guess our garden is green in more ways than one 😉
