wfmw – online gift organizer

October 20, 2010 By: amyswandering2 Comments

In an effort to cut back on Christmas spending (and junky plastic toys!), I hope to make a few gifts this year.

I created a free handy-dandy Christmas Gift LiveBinder to organizer all the crafty links that get lost in my delicious account.

Use your binder to organize gifts to make, recipes for candy or gifts in a jar, links to items to purchase … it’s all up to you!

I even added a tab for myself (LOL), so I can pass on crafty ideas to my kids that I would enjoy receiving.

My Gift LiveBinder is private, because I don’t want anyone peeking, but I set up a fake one so you can see what it looks like.

It is super easy to do! (I will be glad to answer any questions if you have trouble.)

Click on the pic below:

You can see all of my other LiveBinders in the column to the right —->

12 days of christmas

December 14, 2009 By: amyswandering1 Comment

The 12 Days of Christmas Hidden Meanings: Read & discuss. **There is not much evidence to support this as history, but I think it is interesting food for thought.

Activities:

  • older – I am making a chart with this clip art & they will write the meanings of the gifts.
  • younger – number tracing worksheets

Carol Lyrics: pg 1 & pg 2 or this one

Math: calculate the cost of the 12 Days of Christmas

Craft: dancing ladies ornaments (Little Prince will be making a leaping lord 😉

o christmas tree

December 8, 2009 By: amyswanderingcomment

Read The History of the Christmas Tree

Read The Legend of the Christmas Spider

Notebook Pages –

  • older (p.43) write about tree history, and draw a pic in the box to go with the spider legend
  • younger (p. 39) trace/write tree, green, decorate

Craft: paint & glitter Pine Cone Trees

You can find instructions for a beaded spider HERE and HERE and HERE. I am too creeped out by spiders to have those on my tree, but I think I’m going to have to get the supplies to make this cute spider!
