Flexible Homeschool Planning App

I tried to use Evernote for this purpose but ran into two problems: I have too many projects going on there and get tired of wading through them, and it is too easy to accidentally erase things. I finally gave up my search for a better organizer. [Read more…]

I recently commented to a friend that my kids often learn more through videos and games than they do through traditional homeschool curriculum. They tend to retain what they enjoy. [Read more…]

We have used Apologia science curriculum for years in our homeschool, and last year added in the What We Believe series. I was so excited to discover that they have a new reading curriculum by Debra Bell. (She also wrote one of my favorite homeschooling how-to guides: The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling.)

Finding Time for Homeschool Art Lessons

Confession time: I am terrible at working fun (and important) extras like art into our homeschool routine. We either never get around to the extra stuff, or we spend too much time on it and then our core subjects pile up.

I’ve figured out three ways to fit art lessons into our busy homeschool schedule. I hope one of them works for you! [Read more…]
