911-1

I walked into the preschool where I taught just minutes after the first plane hit the tower. We were standing around discussing what must have gone wrong when someone got a call – a second plane hit! What in the world?!?! It really didn’t register right away that we were under attack because terrorism was not a part of our little world back then. I spent the rest of the day sitting on the couch, watching those terrible events unfold.

I am thankful for Freedom, and for everyday heroes who die to protect it. To all of our soldiers, police officers and fire fighters – Thank You and God Bless!!

I posted some 9/11 activities over at Link & Think.

hello, my name is amy

I felt the need to introduce myself again since I’ve been a complete stranger TO MY OWN BLOG!!    I tell ya, having a baby at 37 is way different than at 27. Good thing she is totally worth it! My other kiddos have been a huge blessing during our adjustment.

Here’s a look at what’s been going on in our neck of the woods:

  • Our little Sweetpea is turning 6 months old!!
  • We are in the process of buying a house and hope to close at the end of the month
  • My sister, her hubby, & their 4 kids moved up here from San Antonio. Woohoo!!
  • They will be renting our current house and planned on moving here at the end of March. We didn’t know at the time that we couldn’t close until the end of April. Soooo, we’ve had a big slumber party for the last month and God has really blessed us with a great time!
  • Our house (& yard) is currently home to 4 adults, 9 kids, 6 dogs, 3 fish, 2 rabbits, a cat and a lizard. Oh, and a frog the kids found in the strawberry plants today.

I promise to get back to my regularly-scheduled random posts. I have lots of great links to share, products to review & lovely things to tell you that God has shown me. See you soon!

happy birthday little man

January 11, 2008 By: amyswandering7 Comments

Today our son Elijah would have been 12 years old. It’s been almost 8 years since he left us… pain has eased, life has resumed, God has graciously returned JOY to our home. But the hole is still there, I think it always will be. I am so blessed to have a house full of little stinkers to help celebrate the day our precious first-born entered our lives!

Thank you God for giving us 4 years to enjoy our sweet Elijah! He was worth every ounce of pain and suffering we went through. I learned something about myself during all of this – I think I would have sent someone like me straight to Hell with no second thought if it meant I could have kept my son here with me. Yet You, while I was still a sinner, willingly chose for your son to die for me. My brain still cannot completely comprehend why, but I am so grateful. Because of your Grace and Mercy, I will someday get another bear hug from my sweet little one, and the hole will be filled again. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! for the Hope and Peace you have lavished upon us.

Happy Birthday Little Man!
