my mother hen

November 9, 2008 By: amyswandering4 Comments

I just spent the last hour walking the floor with a gassy baby – bouncing, patting, gas drops – nothing helped. My 11 year old daughter got out of bed and took Sweetpea to give me a break. Three minutes later she deposited a sleeping baby into my arms.  She’s going to be a good Mommy.

FOR TODAY …

Outside my window… a breezy, sunny beautiful day

I am thinking... of Christmas gift ideas to make

From the learning rooms… enjoying the last week of our Bringing Home Baby break

I am thankful for… a newborn who is a great sleeper!

From the kitchen… delicious roast in the crockpot

I am creating… a big mess while pulling out all the Fall clothes

I am going… to CVS to get cheap Pampers

I am reading… Psalms; Advent books

I am hoping… Hubby’s time away on a business trip this week goes quickly

I am hearing… kids sorting through their Halloween candy & making trades

Around the house… I’m putting up Thanksgiving decorations

One of my favorite things… making sour cream chocolate chip muffins for my kids

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…  voting, PKU test for Sweetpea 🙁 pizza & fellowship at church 🙂 a friend’s birthday party

wfmw- holiday scented laundry

October 29, 2008 By: amyswandering5 Comments

This is a repeat of a WFMW I did last year, but it’s one of my favorites & I want to share it again.

Last week I shared how I scent my home for the holidays, so this week I thought I would take it a step further – the laundry! I’ve been a loyal Downy user for 15 years, so last summer when I received a free sample of Snuggle Wild Orchid & Vanilla Kiss I just stuck it up on the shelf. One day last October I ran out of Downy so I tossed in the Snuggle sample. I could not believe how yummy the laundry smelled as I took it out of the dryer – it smelled just like Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar products!! We had our first cool spell this week so I ran to the store yesterday to get my Snuggle :o) (Don’t worry Downy, I’ll go back to you in January, I promise!)

Run on over to Rocks In My Dryer for tons of great tips.

P.S. I need some help, dear internet friends! My son wants to be a marshmallow for Halloween. Not a bag of marshmallows, or a s’more, but a MARSHMALLOW!! Do you have any creative ideas on how I should make it?
