Today is Backwards Day at Works-For-Me Wednesday. Instead of sharing a tip that has worked for you, you’ll throw out an issue or question that has stumped you.
I have two things:
- I love all the digital scrapbook pages on your blogs. I have NO CLUE how to even begin looking for info on that. I’ve found lots of sites about digital scrapbooking, but I need some very basic beginner details.
- I want to get an art set for Dancerella for Christmas. I want a real set (no Roseart or Crayola) for under $50. She is almost 9 and really has a passion for drawing & creating. Can you recommend a brand, or a great place to buy one?
Head on over to Rocks In My Dryer to help someone out or get a question of your own answered.

I just got into digital scrapping a few months ago. What has worked the best for me is to have Photoshop, I know you can buy Photoshop Elements for under $99 most places. Then once you have that, there are some great blogs that have easy to understand tutorials and FREE scrapping supplies like paper, ribbons, etc…
It isnt that hard once you get started. I found that using templates has been the easiest way to go, and have started creating some myself. On my blog I have a list of digi scrapping sites that have helped me (jackandjillandmom.blogspot.com) and my scrap blog has freebies to download if you ever want to (jilljackscraps.blogspot.com).
My favorite tutorials are at http://mistycatodesigns.blogspot.com/2007/05/index-of-tutorials.html
you can email me at melis79@comcast.net with any other questions!

The best site I know of for how to begin digiscrapping is http://scrapgirls.com/.
If you do not have Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or the like already, you will need to purchase that. If you do not have one of these programs already, Photoshop Elements would probably be best for you.
The scrapgirls website has downloadable movie tutorials on how to digiscrap. They start around $35 and then you will also need to purchase a few of the digital paper packs in their boutique. Once you have those things, you can start watching the tutorials and then follow along as you go.
The website also has a free daily e-zine . The ezine has a free download each day. It also has a tip or technique explained in it. Finally, the website has a message board, which I have not used but seems pretty good.
Best of luck!

I have not looked for an art set myself but one thought I had was….about every other week Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon in the paper and on their website. You might see if they have a set you like and see if the 40% off would get you to the price range you want?! Just a thought.

Amy,
My nephew is an artist and I bought his professional set at Hobby Lobby. I can not remember the brand! I remember it had a logo colors scribbled across it like a zig zag effect. I bought him a color set and a charcoal set. Both were under $50.00. He loves it!!!
I am old fashion when it comes to scrapbooking so I can not offer help in the digital scrapbooking world!
Have a great day!

Was at SAM’S last night and they had what looked like a pretty nice art set for $29.99. You might want to check it out?!!
